The Great Western Festival

The Great Western Festival

The Great Western Festival is a one day festival of ‘musical exploration and discovery’ and will highlight both the neighborhood’s strong sense of community spirit and the potential of its underutilised spaces.

The festival, taking place on Saturday 23rd November, will host over 50 live acts across 10 venues in the West End of Glasgow, including Malian Desert Blues Collective, Songhoy Blues, The Pastels, Sacred Paws, Free Love and Callum Easter to name a few.

The range of venues include, The Burnbank Bowling Club, The Glue Factory and Maryhill Community Central Halls, to established music hotspots like the Hug & Pint, Oran Mor and QMU.

Alongside live music programming, the Great Western is working with local restaurants and bars to provide a range of food and drink options. A variety of community workshops will also be on offer. With so much going on throughout the course of the day, you’ll be hard pushed to pack it all in!
